  • Percy was just being a lab when he followed his nose to his Moms purse and found some gum to munch on! Percy ate over 20 pieces in a just a few seconds! As we know a lot of gum now contains xylitol and xylitol is very poisonous to animals. His owner rushed him in to the clinic where we discovered thankfully for Percy that the gum contained no xylitol. However Dr. Betnaza thought it was best to induce vomiting to insure there were no issues with eating so much gum! We checked in on Percy today and he is doing great. Its like nothing happened :)

  • It is National Poison Prevention Week. Please take time to review some household dangers that we may not always think of. As always if you are not sure, just give us a call!
  • Part of our work with the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue involves taking care of TNR's or Trap Neuter Release cats. While they are in for their neuter or spay they receive a full physical exam under anesthesia. If we see any other issues like broken teeth they are extracted at the time. We know that it is impossible to provide ongoing veterinary care for these cats as most of them are feral so we do everything in our means to take care of any issues they have while they are in clinic for the day. Pictured is Dr. Baar removing an incisor from one our kitties today.
